We are working with a leading IPP in the renewable energy market who are seeking a skilled and experienced WTG (Wind Turbine Generator) Package Manager to join their team with a regional scope across Asia Pacific. As a WTG Package Manager, you will be responsible for managing the entire lifecycle of wind turbine packages, from planning and procurement to installation and commissioning. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the successful delivery of wind energy projects, optimizing performance, and driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Package Management: Oversee the entire lifecycle of wind turbine packages, including planning, procurement, logistics, installation, and commissioning, while ensuring adherence to project schedules and budget constraints.
- Technical Expertise: Develop a deep understanding of wind turbine technologies, specifications, and performance requirements, ensuring effective communication with internal teams, suppliers, and contractors.
- Supplier Management: Collaborate with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage relationships to ensure the delivery of high-quality wind turbine packages, meeting the project's technical, quality, and safety standards.
- Project Coordination: Liaise and coordinate with various internal and external stakeholders, including engineering teams, project managers, contractors, and regulatory authorities, to drive project progress, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with local regulations.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain rigorous quality assurance processes, conducting inspections, audits, and performance evaluations to ensure the delivery of reliable and efficient wind turbine packages.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks and challenges related to WTG packages, developing contingency plans and providing recommendations to optimize project outcomes.
- Documentation and Reporting: Generate comprehensive reports, including technical specifications, progress updates, and risk assessments, to support project decision-making and maintain accurate records.
- Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE): Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with HSE policies and standards, and driving continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental performance.
- Market Research: Stay updated with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements, conducting market research to identify potential improvements and opportunities for project optimization.
- Training and Development: Stay abreast of advancements in wind turbine technology, industry best practices, and project management methodologies, sharing knowledge and mentoring junior team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, renewable energy, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
- Proven experience in managing wind turbine generator packages, preferably within the Asia Pacific region.
- Strong knowledge of wind turbine technologies, specifications, and installation processes.
- Familiarity with regional regulations, standards, and permitting requirements for wind energy projects in Asia Pacific.
- Excellent project management skills, with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure quality standards are met.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and mitigate risks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in English is required. Knowledge of additional languages spoken in the Asia Pacific region is a plus.
- Willingness to travel to project sites across the Asia Pacific region as needed.
