Water/Wastewater Technical Design Lead
Job Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced and qualified Water/Wastewater Technical Design Lead to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess over 10 years of experience in water and wastewater engineering design, hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license, and possess a degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in leading technical design efforts, ensuring the delivery of high-quality water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams involved in the design and implementation of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
Design Oversight: Lead the development and review of technical designs, specifications, and drawings for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pipelines, pump stations, and related infrastructure projects.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all designs and project activities adhere to relevant regulatory requirements, codes, and standards governing water and wastewater engineering projects.
Project Management Support: Collaborate with project managers to develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets for water and wastewater projects. Provide technical support and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
Client Engagement: Interact with clients to understand project requirements, provide technical expertise, and address any concerns or issues related to water and wastewater infrastructure design.
Team Development: Mentor and coach junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment within the team.
Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC): Implement QA/QC processes to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of technical designs and deliverables.
Innovation and Best Practices: Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in water and wastewater engineering. Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in design processes and methodologies.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with water and wastewater projects. Develop mitigation strategies to address risks and ensure project success.
Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, environmental specialists, and construction managers, to integrate water and wastewater designs into overall project plans.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Civil Engineering or relevant discipline.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in water and wastewater engineering, with a focus on technical design and project management.
- In-depth knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes, hydraulics, and environmental regulations.
- Proficiency in industry-standard design software and tools, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., WaterCAD, SewerCAD).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, stakeholders, and project team members.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the ability to mentor and develop junior staff members.
- Strong commitment to quality, safety, and sustainability in engineering design and project delivery.
