Job Description
We have a great opportunity for a civil/environmental engineer to join our Columbus, Ohio office! With high-level goals provided, candidate can expect to completes tasks focused on design, condition assessment, construction administration and rehabilitation of local and national conveyance (waterline, sanitary and stormwater system) projects.
Candidate will prepare technical reports, specifications, and design drawings; review draft designs and reports for compliance with federal, state and local regulations and signs off on completed designs; perform site reviews/inspections, as needed, to verify designs are aligned with project specific requirements; update design requirements as necessary; collaborate with sales staff to create proposals in response to current and potential client requests for proposal (RFPs); review draft proposals for adherence to firm, industry, state, local and federal regulations and best practices; meets with current and potential future clients to review their current and future design needs; attend conferences, symposia, etc. to improve the visibility of the firm's products and services in collaboration with applicable sales staff.
The candidate will provide technical guidance and training to more junior staff.
Minimum Qualifications
-Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
-Professional engineering (PE) license.
-7 years of related experience.
-Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
-Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
Skills and Abilities
-Strong experience in developing technical reports, specifications, and design drawings for water and wastewater treatment plant related designs is required.
-Pump station and/or conveyance system design experience is preferred.
-Solid Knowledge of computer assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices.
-Solid knowledge of PDF editing software (Bluebeam, Adobe).
- Expert Knowledge of engineer principles of design.
-Expert Knowledge of Microsoft business software (excel, word, outlook, etc.).
-Excellent verbal and written communication. Extensive experience working with multi-discipline design teams.
