Job Title: Water/Wastewater Director Lead
Total Compensation: Up to $240,000 per year

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated individual to fill the role of Water/Wastewater Director Lead. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of water and wastewater operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and implementing efficient and sustainable practices. This position offers a competitive total compensation package of $240,000 per year.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement long-term strategies and plans to optimize water and wastewater operations, improve efficiency, and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Operational Management: Direct and supervise all water and wastewater treatment processes, including distribution and collection systems, to ensure reliable and efficient operation.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing water and wastewater treatment, including permitting, reporting, and monitoring requirements.
- Budgeting and Financial Management: Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets, monitor expenditures, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Personnel Management: Recruit, train, and supervise a team of water and wastewater professionals, fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Capital Projects: Plan, prioritize, and oversee the implementation of capital improvement projects, including upgrades to treatment facilities, pipelines, and pumping stations.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with regulatory agencies, community stakeholders, and other relevant parties to address concerns, communicate plans, and build positive relationships.
- Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency response plans to address water and wastewater system failures, natural disasters, and other emergencies.
- Technology and Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and best practices in water and wastewater management, and recommend innovative solutions to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare regular reports, presentations, and documentation on water and wastewater operations, performance metrics, and compliance status for internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in water and wastewater management, including at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Thorough understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes, equipment, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively lead and develop a diverse team of professionals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven track record of successful project management, budgeting, and financial management.
- Ability to think strategically, solve complex problems, and make sound decisions in a dynamic and challenging environment.
- Experience with emergency response planning and incident management preferred.
- Knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in water and wastewater management.
