One of our clients in the Austin area is in search of a mid-level Transportation Drainage Engineer with four years of experience for Austin Team. This position supports their highway, bridge, and rail projects across Texas. As part of a collaborative team, you'll utilize your expertise in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include storm drainage analysis and design, cross drainage hydraulic analysis and design, erosion control, quantity and cost estimates, and preparation of technical reports and construction plans.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with project engineers on detailed enclosed storm drainage analysis and design for urban and rural transportation projects.
- Perform drainage analysis and design under project requirements and standards set by transportation public agencies such as TxDOT
- Assist in preparing contract drainage drawings, specifications, and estimates.
- Generate project-specific drainage/hydraulic reports and technical memoranda.
- Conduct hydraulic analysis for cross-drainage structures and integrate results into design coordination with other disciplines (roadway and bridge).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a U.S. ABET-accredited school.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas or ability to obtain within six months from the hiring date if licensed in another state.
- Four years of experience on mid- to large-scale transportation projects, focusing on drainage design, hydrologic, and hydraulic analyses.
- Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate drainage design phases with other team disciplines.
- Proficiency in Microstation, Geopak Drainage, OpenRoads, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and HY-8. and SUDA
- Experience in designing roadway-enclosed storm sewer systems.
- Experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for cross-drainage structures.
- Previous involvement in large-scale design-build transportation projects.
