Responsibilities:
As the Traffic Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing a team of talented traffic engineers while working closely with other departments and stakeholders. Your expertise will be pivotal in designing, developing, and implementing traffic engineering solutions to enhance transportation systems' safety, efficiency, and sustainability.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and mentoring a team of traffic engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project execution.
- Collaborating with clients and stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Conducting thorough traffic studies, data analysis, and simulations to develop comprehensive engineering solutions.
- Designing and optimizing traffic signal systems, intersection layouts, and traffic management strategies.
- Assessing and improving the traffic flow of existing transportation systems.
- Staying up-to-date with industry trends, standards, and regulations to ensure compliance and innovation.
- Preparing detailed reports, proposals, and presentations for clients and internal review.
- Participating in public meetings and engaging with communities to address concerns and present project updates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master's preferred).
- Proven experience as a Traffic Engineer, with at least 10 years of experience (proven project management experience)
- Professional Engineering (PE) license required.
- Strong knowledge of traffic engineering principles, traffic modeling software, and transportation planning.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing and optimizing traffic signal systems and roadway geometrics.
- Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, Synchro/SimTraffic, VISSIM, or other relevant software.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to lead and manage multiple projects concurrently while meeting deadlines and budget constraints.
