SUMMARY OF ROLE
We are seeking an individual who will be part of the client's successful Structured Finance team which executes financing strategies for the deployment of solar loans and lease/PPAs for the acquisition of the client's solar energy systems, or its output, by our Customers.
The individual in this position will gain an understanding of all aspects of the renewable energy Structured Finance market, including tax incentivized finance structures, warehouse lending facilities, term debt and public securitizations. The individual will create, structure, and manage financial models for portfolios of residential solar systems, as well as help negotiate and execute transaction documents. The person will provide support to the other members of the residential business team such as sales/ product development/ operations to develop and explain financing strategies best suited to the objectives and limitations of the situation.
The ideal candidate will understand tax equity and/or how a lending business works. Additionally, an ideal candidate will have strong analytical and interpersonal skills, and a keen desire to work with the leading finance providers in this industry to broaden access to solar to a greater share of the U.S. market. Experience in the energy industry is a plus but is not required.
RELATED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Minimum requirements -
- Bachelor's degree in finance, engineering or related field
- 2-3 years' work experience in energy or finance
- Knowledge of complex valuation and financing/economic modelling
- Expert knowledge of Excel, VBA and PowerPoint, and highly skilled with other MS Office products
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
A degree in finance, accounting, engineering or other relevant field is required. Knowledge of project/ structured finance, leasing, equipment finance, consumer lending or renewable energy is a plus, but is not required. A deep understanding of the following is expected:
- Strong math and computer skills
- Experience performing financial modeling and an understanding of financial concepts (ROI, IRR, NPV)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of applications, especially Excel
- Strong communication skills
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must demonstrate the skills necessary to learn and support the Structured Finance and business units to creatively structure and execute successful solar energy financings and to build internal and external partnerships. Excellent analytical and communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment are required.
Work-skill samples will be required as part of the candidate appraisal and review process.

This position is based in Richmond, CA and may require some travel.
