They have a huge backlog of construction defect and catastrophe analysis work across NC, and this is an extremely unique opportunity to take on a consistent workload whilst being trained into the next branch leader.
They are looking for experienced forensic engineers to join their newly established office in Charlotte, NC. You will work closely with the leaders to grow out a forensic engineering department and you will be put on a path to becoming the branch leader. Both owners came with a host of industry connections and repeat clients including adjustors, attorneys, contractors, and private landowners whom they have personally worked with for many years. The firm are specialized in both insurance-based forensics and repair & restoration for commercial and residential buildings. This means there will be a scope of work for you regardless of your specialism and you will also have the option to upskill your business development ability and win new business for the firm.
Responsibilities
- Work with a multi-disciplinary team to analyse structural or building envelope failures and work on repairing/restoring any defects. This can include designing the repairs.
- Conduct forensic investigations into structural failures, including fire, flood, and impact damage and construction defect.
- Prepare detailed reports on findings and provide expert testimony in legal proceedings.
- Work closely with clients to develop effective remediation strategies.
- Undertake site visits and inspections to identify potential issues and hazards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
- 3+ years of relevant experience with proven growth
- Professional Engineer in North Carolina
- Experience conducting root cause investigations for structural components or building enclosure systems
- Experience designing repairs for structural or exterior components.
