Job Description: We are seeking a talented Structural Engineer to join our team. As a Structural Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design and analysis of building structures, ensuring their integrity, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards. Responsibilities:
- Conduct structural analysis and calculations to determine the integrity and stability of building structures.
- Design and detail structural components, including beams, columns, foundations, and connections, using industry-standard software and tools.
- Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and reports that outline the structural design requirements and recommendations.
- Collaborate with architects, designers, and other engineering disciplines to integrate structural designs with overall building plans and specifications.
- Review and evaluate contractor submittals and respond to requests for information (RFIs) during the construction phase to ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Perform site visits and inspections to assess the structural integrity of existing buildings, identify deficiencies, and provide recommendations for remediation or retrofitting.
- Stay updated on relevant building codes, standards, and regulations to ensure compliance and incorporate best practices into design solutions.
- Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies, to address technical inquiries and resolve design-related issues.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes, methodologies, and standards within the firm.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and interns, fostering their professional development and growth within the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Georgia, or the ability to obtain licensure within a reasonable timeframe.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in structural engineering, preferably with a focus on building design.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as ETABS, SAP2000, or STAAD.Pro.
- Strong understanding of building codes and standards, including ASCE, ACI, AISC, and IBC.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Detail-oriented with a keen eye for accuracy and quality in design documentation.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with Revit or other Building Information Modeling (BIM) software is a plus.
