A Drainage Engineer is currently being sought by a leading firm in the Civil & Infrastructure industry. This position is for an immediate remote placement, and will primarily involve working on local stormwater and hydraulic projects. Additionally, there will be opportunities to contribute to national design projects and pursuits.
Responsibilities:
* Preparation of Storm Water Management Reports and culvert hydraulics & hydrologic studies
* Facilitation of permits through various local and state agencies
* Assistance in the development of specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports
* Coordination of drainage with various disciplines
* Collaboration with the design team to ensure quality deliverables within established timelines and budgets
* Cultivation of working relationships and interaction with client technical staff and project managers
* Opportunities to contribute to project development with both existing and new clients
Requirements:
* Holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering
* Possesses a minimum of 8 years of experience in drainage engineering
* Holds a Professional Engineer (PE) License in Illinois
* Proficient in drainage systems, stormwater management facilities, floodplain modeling, and temporary drainage
* Familiarity with stormwater design and analysis software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HY-8, GEOPAK Drainage
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Strong time management skills, a dedicated work ethic, and a drive for learning and excelling
* Willingness to adapt to new software and technology
* Ability to build strong professional relationships
* Capability to lead and mentor junior staff
Desired Skills:
* Experience working with ProjectWise
* Certification as a Floodplain Manager (CFM)
* Familiarity with 2D flood modeling, XP-SWMM, ArcGIS, and ICPR
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Interest in networking and participation in professional organizations and committees
