Position Requirements:
Education/Registration:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
- Texas Professional Engineer (Civil) licensure
- TxDOT pre-certifications in relevant roadway transportation categories
Professional:
- Demonstrated responsiveness and results-driven service ethos towards clients and the design team
- Over 10 years of transportation design experience, including city street, drainage, highways, freeways, and traffic
- Minimum three years' experience in the local transportation market collaborating with TxDOT and other municipal entities
- Proficiency in OpenRoads Designer with previous experience using MicroStation/GeoPak for TxDOT deliverables
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong dedication to ongoing professional development
- Proven ability to cultivate strong interpersonal relationships within a team-oriented environment
- Effective communication and leadership skills, both onsite and offsite
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet client expectations
- Personal attributes including strong organizational and time management skills, continuous learning orientation, and decisive decision-making ability
- Valid driver's license required
Responsibilities/Expectations:
- Actively engage in engineering design and analysis for projects, including managing multiple assignments from various clients and project teams
- Lead the technical design, plan production, and delivery of transportation projects
- Prepare construction documents for public works infrastructure projects, from conceptualization to final design
- Develop proposals, design plans, reports, cost estimates, specifications, and contract documents
- Foster effective communication and collaboration with team members and clients
- Schedule and direct work assignments to accomplish project objectives within allocated budgets and timelines
- Coordinate with technical experts, engineering teams, and sub-consultants to ensure project success
- Cultivate strong client relationships and uphold superior financial performance
- Guide the work of Civil Engineers and CAD Designers
- Assist in the technical training and development of junior Civil Engineers
