A decarbonization company is searching for a Senior Technology Specialist to support in their efforts to add emerging technology to their projects, lead early studies and develop project initiatives. The Senior Technology Specialist explained in more detail below.
Senior Technology Specialist Responsibilities
- Assist in technical development and direction of emerging technology in decarbonization.
- Create and maintain personal positive relationships with their suppliers.
- Lead and participate in technical proposals for new opportunities.
- Experience collaborating with customers and clients across all levels of the business.
- Understand all levels of projects and technological drivers (internal and external).
- Able to understand and learn all aspects of the projects, technologies, and overall state of the market economy.
- Provide updates to management to support strategic initiatives.
- Assist in business development (identify new opportunities and purpose new projects).
- Manage specific clients on multiple projects and ensure their goals are met.
- Assist in technical oversight of projects from start to finish (design and construction).
- Assist in feasibility studies, technical evaluations, and conceptual designs for client needs and project objectives.
- Lead and represent the company through conferences and technical seminars. Furthermore, write papers, deliver presentations, and support marketing initiatives/events.
- Mentor project staff through guidance, instruction, and advice.
- Support project sites through trade shows, conferences, and client/supplier meetings.
- Work directly with the Director of Decarbonization and Emerging Technology Strategic Market Development Manager to understand the overall market (drivers, needs, limitations, trends, etc.)
- Travel about 15% of the time.
Senior Technology Specialist Qualifications
- Ability to be in person at the headquarters located in Kansas City, Missouri.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical, chemical, or mechanical).
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in project development, engineering, and construction.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients.
- Strong verbal and interpersonal skills. Ability to present/communicate complex information to all levels of the business (employees, managers, and clients).
- Strong analytic and critical thinking skills.
- Capability to create new approaches to problems encountered.
- Ability to learn and understand emerging technologies is critical due to the dynamic nature of the energy market.
