One of the leading Energy and Infrastructure Engineering Consultancies is looking to bring on a Senior Technology Specialist to work on their Carbon Capture Projects. The Senior Technology Specialist will be working on ways to help find new options for decarbonization through the selection of emerging technologies and how to go about actually implementing these new technologies.
Senior Technology Specialist Primary Responsibilities:
- Involved with the technical development of targeted emerging technology/decarbonization technology in emerging markets
- Create and sustain relationships with key technology vendors within specific technology markets
- Leading and helping with any technical proposals for emerging tech opportunities
- Working hand in hand with customers and clients across all levels of an organization (both internal or external stakeholders) to help locate, understand and cultivate project and technology implementation drivers and goals
- Strong knowledge of project, technology, industry and market economic conditions
- Work closely with business development to help locate and understand opportunities in order to go after and obtain new projects
- Act as the primary liaison between client and team relationships on various projects that are assigned to you in order to help drive the direction of the projects and ensure that all of the client requirements are met
- Lead the technology and technical oversight of assessing projects and or technologies, starting from front-end development efforts all the way to the detailed design and construction activities
- Lead feasibility studies, technology evaluations, and conceptual designs as required to support client and or project objectives and goals
- Stay up to date with market trends and technologies.
- Provide periodic updates to the management team to provide insight into strategic initiatives as well as marketing and sales activities
- Develop and maintain relationships with both prospective and existing clients/customers
- Be able to pin point opportunities that can support business development efforts such as submittals, proposals, presentations, contract negotiations, and related activities
- Actively represent the organization by participating in conferences, technical seminars, and may include writing papers, delivering presentations and or supporting any conference marketing initiatives and events
- Act as a mentor to project staff by providing guidance, instruction and professional/technical advice
- Visit project sites, trade shows, industry conferences, and meetings to develop relationships with clients and equipment vendors
- Work hand in hand with the Director of Decarbonization and Emerging Technology Strategic Market Development Manager to better understand market trends, drivers, needs, limitations etc, to develop strategy approaches for their clients
Senior Technology Specialist Qualifications:
- Ideally looking for someone to be based out of the HQ office in Kansas City Missouri (relocation assistance can be provided)
- Bachelors degree in engineering (electrical, chemical or mechanical are preferred)
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience is preferred
- Specifically when it comes to project development, engineering and construction is a PLUS
- Prior experience with developing and maintaining client relationships
- Ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management and clients
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Must have the ability to come up with new approaches to existing problems that come up. As a result of the dynamic nature of the energy market, you should have the ability to learn, understand and apply new technologies, is MAJOR REQUIREMENT
