Senior Process Engineer (Decarbonization) - Energy
A client in the decarbonization industry is looking to hire a Senior Process Engineer to support their Energy global practice. This role is in person at their headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri and includes travel for 20% of the time. This position focuses on conceptual design projects, FEED studies, and detailed design/EPC projects for decarbonization technologies such as carbon capture, utilization (blue, green, pink, etc.), hydrogen production, long duration energy storage processes, direct air capture (DAC), liquified natural gas (LNG), and more.
Senior Process Engineer Responsibilities
- Support the team throughout the construction and design process, design factors, adapting process plans, or client needs.
- Create process design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion. Furthermore, Review and Modify production drawings for numerous projects. Some examples of these projects are power plants, hydrogen production facilities, DAC facilities, LNG facilities, and other industrial facilities.
- Design process components that meet project requirements provided by the project managers. The preferred candidate has a strong knowledge of commonly used process engineering/design concepts, practices, principles, codes, and procedures within the process engineering services industry.
- Research and collect project-related data.
- Update drawings provided by senior engineers to validate adjustments are completed with multiple CAD-related software.
- Have experience or have experience with technologies and OEMs used in the decarbonization market.
- Collect information for client presentations, contract administration for the design of decarbonization facilities, and shop drawing review.
- Perform field inspections, calculations, or measurements for clients.
Senior Process Engineer Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related Engineering Technology and 7 years chemical engineering experience.
- EPC project experience preferred.
- Preferred experience in one of the following industries: hydrogen production, power generation, liquefied natural gas (LNG), carbon capture, water & wastewater treatment.
- Strong computer skills including process simulation software's is preferred (for example: AFT Fathom, Hysys, Aspen, HTRI) is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Previous experience leading the discipline design for large projects and delegating tasks to team members. Ability to lead a team and resolving any issues within the team.
- Strong diligence, facilitation, collaboration, team building, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience or ability to perform quality reviews for engineering documents and specifications.
- Ability to travel.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License Preferred.
