They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Port Engineer to join their Offshore Wind Development team. As a Senior Port Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of port-related activities, ensuring the efficient and safe execution of offshore wind projects. This role requires a strong background in port operations, marine logistics, and project management.
Responsibilities:
Port Infrastructure Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify suitable port facilities, assess infrastructure capabilities, and develop plans for port utilization during offshore wind projects.
Logistics Coordination: Manage the logistics and coordination of equipment, personnel, and materials to and from port facilities, ensuring timely and cost-effective operations.
Port Safety and Compliance: Implement and enforce safety protocols, industry standards, and regulatory requirements related to port activities. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections.
Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with port authorities, service providers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth collaboration and resolve any potential issues.
Budget Oversight: Develop and manage budgets for port-related activities, tracking expenses, and identifying opportunities for cost optimization.
Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks associated with port operations and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the safety and success of offshore wind projects.
Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to align port activities with overall project timelines and milestones.
Technical Expertise: Stay informed about the latest advancements in port and marine technologies, providing insights on how emerging trends can be leveraged to improve project efficiency.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Maritime Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in port engineering, marine logistics, or a similar role within the offshore energy industry.
Strong project management skills, with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
In-depth knowledge of port infrastructure, vessel operations, and offshore construction practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and external stakeholders.
Familiarity with relevant safety standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
Fluent in English and Japanese (both spoken and written)
