Job Description:
Representing a firm who is looking to get in touch with Civil Engineers/Geologists to support Geotechnical Investigation and Engineering Design Projects.
This company is hiring Civil Engineers/Geologists to support Geotechnical Investigation and Engineering Design Projects.
The ideal person for this role has 5 to 10 years of experience in soil/groundwater investigations evaluation of subsurface soil and rock material, geotechnical analyses, foundation designs, support of excavation, slope stability and settlement analyses, etc.
Experience in New Jersey and New York area is a must.
Candidates must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a thorough knowledge of state and federal regulations and willingness to work in both the office and field.
The successful geotechnical engineer candidate will work in applying geotechnical engineering techniques, procedures, and principles on a variety of civil engineering projects including transportation, municipal, water, wastewater, and hazardous waste projects.
Candidates must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a thorough knowledge of state and federal codes and willingness to work in both the office and field.
Key qualifications:
* Bachelor degree in Civil/Mining Engineering, Geology with knowledge in Engineering Geology. Master degree is a plus.
* Professional Engineer license, or Professional Geologist license, or ability to obtain within one year will be a plus.
* Evaluation of subsurface material, estimate index and engineering properties, perform analyses and design shallow and deep foundations, support of excavation, etc.
* Knowledge of ASTM Standards, Design using principles of LRFD, International Building codes.
* Ability to use AutoCAD/Microstation is required
* Should have working knowledge of using Geotechnical software such as gINT, L&A Pile, Group, SLIDE, WEAP, etc
* Experience in preparing project specifications and reports *
* Demonstrated experience providing supervision of subcontractors and junior staff
