Senior Financial Manager, Offshore Wind

Our client, a leading renewable energy company based in Tokyo, is looking for an experienced and motivated individual to join their growing team. As the Senior Financial Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial and financial-related workstreams of a project. It is about projects from early development through to auction bid.

Location: Tokyo, Japan (hybrid working)
Employment: Full-time permanent

Key responsibilities:
1. Financial Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
- Provide insights and recommendations to support key decision-making processes.

2. Project Finance Management:
- Lead the financial structuring and modeling for offshore wind projects.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to secure project financing and manage financial risks.

3. Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Oversee the budgeting process for offshore wind projects, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project milestones.
- Conduct regular financial forecasting and variance analysis to identify trends and potential areas of improvement.

4. Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports to senior management and external partners.
- Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements.

5. Risk Management:
- Identify and assess financial risks associated with offshore wind projects.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to safeguard project financial performance.

6. Stakeholder Communication:
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including investors, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships to facilitate successful financial partnerships.

7. Team Leadership:
- Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Mentor and develop team members to enhance their professional growth.

Key qualifications:
1. University degree in business administration, business engineering, banking, finance, or economics
2. Broad finance background (for example: project financing, controlling, accounting, etc.)
3. At least 5 years of experience in finance function for large-scale projects in the Energy sector (Renewable Energy or Conventional Power Plants)
4. Native Japanese and fluent English skills
5. Excellent communication skills and analytical skills
