As a Senior Environmental Planner, you will play a key role in leading and managing environmental planning initiatives for a variety of projects in the Sacramento region. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of environmental regulations, possess strong project management skills, and be passionate about contributing to the development of sustainable solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage environmental planning projects from inception to completion, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines.
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and provide recommendations for mitigation measures.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including engineers, architects, and regulatory agencies, to integrate environmental considerations into project planning.
- Stay current with environmental laws and regulations, and ensure that project plans align with the latest standards.
- Prepare and review environmental documentation, reports, and permit applications.
- Engage with stakeholders, including government agencies, community groups, and the public, to gather input and address concerns.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in environmental planning, with a focus on projects in the Sacramento area.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations and permitting processes.
- Proven experience in managing and leading environmental planning projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Professional certification (AICP, CEP, or similar) is a plus.
