Job Description:
We are seeking a seasoned and dynamic Senior Energy Engineer to lead our energy initiatives and drive sustainable solutions for our clients. As a Senior Energy Engineer, you will leverage your expertise in energy systems, renewable technologies, and project management to develop and implement innovative energy solutions that optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize environmental impact.
Responsibilities:
Energy Audits: Conduct comprehensive energy audits and assessments of commercial, industrial, and residential facilities to identify opportunities for energy conservation, efficiency improvements, and renewable energy integration. Sepcifically, ASHRAE level lll audits.
System Design: Design energy-efficient systems and solutions, including HVAC, lighting, controls, renewable energy systems, and energy storage technologies, tailored to meet client requirements and sustainability goals.
Energy Modeling: Utilize advanced energy modeling software to simulate building performance, predict energy consumption, and assess the impact of energy conservation measures (ECMs) and renewable energy systems on overall energy usage.
Project Management: Lead multi-disciplinary project teams, including engineers, designers, contractors, and vendors, to coordinate project activities, manage resources, and ensure timely and successful project delivery.
Client Consultation: Collaborate with clients to understand their energy needs, goals, and budget constraints, and provide expert advice and recommendations on energy strategies, technologies, and investment opportunities.
Performance Monitoring: Implement monitoring and verification (M&V) protocols to track energy savings, system performance, and operational efficiency post-implementation, and provide ongoing optimization recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, or Renewable Energy Engineering. Master's degree is a plus.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or relevant certifications (e.g., CEM, LEED AP) preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in energy engineering, renewable energy, or related field, with a focus on energy analysis, design, and project management.
- Proficiency in energy modeling software (e.g., EnergyPlus, eQUEST, RETScreen), CAD software, and simulation tools.
- Previous experience in the following markets is required: federal, higher education, data centers, municipalities, healthcare, etc.
- Strong understanding of building systems, HVAC principles, energy codes, and sustainability practices.
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex multi-million dollar energy projects from conception through to implementation, including feasibility assessment, design development, and commissioning.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
- Outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
- Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
