Position Overview:
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, implementation, and testing of electrical systems for utility-scale PV projects and battery storage systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on batteries and utility PV project electrical design. Additionally, hands-on experience with switchboard design and proficiency in conducting factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT) are essential for success in this role. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to battery storage systems is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the electrical design process for utility-scale PV projects and battery storage systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
- Develop detailed electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for switchboards, inverters, transformers, and other electrical components.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to optimize system performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT) to verify the functionality and performance of electrical systems.
- Provide technical support during the construction, commissioning, and operation phases of projects, addressing any electrical issues or challenges that arise.
- Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory developments related to battery storage systems and renewable energy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on batteries and utility PV project electrical design.
- Hands-on experience with switchboard design and proficiency in AutoCAD or similar software.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to battery storage systems, such as IEEE 1547, NEC, and AS/NZS 5139.
- Experience conducting factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT) for electrical systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Location:
This position is based in Melbourne, Australia. Occasional travel to project sites and client meetings may be required.
