Summary
A prominent independent power producer focusing on solar energy projects across several states is looking to expand their renewables team in Virginia! They have contributed nearly 900MW of renewable energy and have a substantial pipeline of over 6.5GW, leading the "green revolution" in energy with innovative solar and wind projects.
Responsibilities:
- Develop electrical system designs for solar and BESS energy projects from concept to IFC.
- Coordinate interconnection processes with utilities and grid operators, ensuring successful COD.
- Direct the activities of the electrical engineering team and mentor staff as required.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulatory requirements for all electrical systems.
- Collaborate with project managers to manage schedules, budgets, and resources for electrical engineering tasks.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required; Master's degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
- 7+ years of experience as an electrical engineer, preferably in Utility-scale renewable energy within PJM.
- Experience with design/build construction and strong financial analysis skills.
- Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in electrical design software and Microsoft Office.
