Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Bridge Lead to join our national engineering firm in Albuquerque, New Mexico. As the Senior Bridge Lead, you will be responsible for leading and managing bridge engineering projects, driving business development efforts, and growing a team of talented professionals. Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership: Provide technical expertise and guidance in the design, analysis, and evaluation of bridge structures. Oversee the development of construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates for bridge projects. Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
Project Management: Lead bridge engineering projects from initiation to completion. Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules. Monitor progress, manage resources, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality work. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with clients and stakeholders.
Business Development: Drive business growth by identifying and pursuing new opportunities in bridge engineering within the Albuquerque area and across the region. Cultivate and maintain client relationships, attend industry events, and participate in networking activities. Collaborate with the firm's business development team to develop strategic plans and proposals.
Team Leadership: Build and lead a team of bridge engineering professionals. Provide mentorship, guidance, and technical support to team members. Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment. Promote professional development and encourage continuous learning.
Quality Assurance: Ensure the adherence to quality standards and best practices in bridge engineering. Review and approve design calculations, drawings, and reports. Implement quality control procedures to deliver accurate and reliable engineering solutions.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks. Anticipate potential issues and develop contingency plans. Monitor project budgets and resources to ensure profitability. Maintain a strong focus on safety and regulatory compliance.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
Professional Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in bridge engineering, including significant experience in leading and managing bridge projects. Demonstrated expertise in bridge design, analysis, and evaluation.
Professional Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license in New Mexico or the ability to obtain it within a reasonable timeframe.
Business Development: Proven track record in business development, including identifying and pursuing new opportunities, cultivating client relationships, and winning projects. Familiarity with the local market in Albuquerque and the ability to expand business nationally.
Leadership Skills: Strong leadership abilities with experience in leading multidisciplinary teams. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to inspire and motivate team members towards a common goal.
Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of bridge engineering principles, codes, and standards. Proficiency in relevant software and design tools. Familiarity with the latest advancements in bridge engineering technology.
Project Management: Demonstrated experience in managing complex bridge engineering projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. Ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Collaboration: Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, stakeholders, and colleagues at all levels.
Travel: Willingness to travel occasionally for project assignments and business development activities.
