Position: Senior Bridge Engineer/PM
Location: Fort Worth, Texas
A national firm with multiple locations in Texas is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join their esteemed team at the Fort Worth office. The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in crafting design calculations, conducting detailed analyses, and producing structural drawings and specifications for a variety of projects including bridges, retaining walls, and foundations within the transportation, public infrastructure, and drainage sectors. Collaboration within a multidisciplinary team comprising Transportation Engineers, Designers, and CAD Technicians will be integral to success in this role, necessitating a commitment to teamwork and adherence to established standards.
Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Lead the design analysis and development of technical bridge plans/details for both TxDOT and municipal clients
- Demonstrate proficiency in TxDOT Bridge and AASHTO LRFD design methodologies
- Generate exhibits, drawings, and details pertinent to bridge projects
- Execute both routine and complex design/analysis tasks, applying established structural design techniques
- Supervise plan production and facilitate coordination among team members
- Interpret bridge construction documents and leverage deep bridge design expertise
- Exhibit strong oral and written communication skills, ensuring effective documentation
Professional:
- Possess a minimum of ten years of progressive Structural Design experience
- Hold an Engineer-in-Training Certificate (EIT)
- Registered Professional Engineer eligible for registration in the State of Texas
- TxDOT pre-certifications in applicable bridge/structural categories
- Proven ability to manage projects, adhere to schedules, and communicate effectively with professionals and technical staff
- Proficiency in OpenBridge Modeler (Additional AutoCAD experience beneficial)
- Familiarity with MS Office Suite, MATHCAD, STAADPRO, RISA, and TxDOT Bridge design software
- Technical design expertise aligning with current AASHTO LRFD, AISC, ACI, PCA, and IBC design standards
- Experience in TxDOT bridge detailing practices and familiarity with roadway, highway, or structural design projects
- Exposure to OpenRoads Designer, Geopak, and/or InRoads is considered advantageous
Compensation:
- Competitive base salary contingent upon skills, qualifications, and experience
- Additional compensation for hours worked beyond 43 hours per week
