We have a current opportunity for a Regional HSE Manager on a permanent basis with an international Solar Power Developer. The position will be based either in Bangkok, Thailand or Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The role requires frequent travel between Thailand and Vietnam each month, and visits to sites.
Responsibilities:
- Enhance the implementation of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols across the Asian country (Thailand, Vietnam).
- Initiate and consolidate a governance system to oversee HSE risks and impacts for all implementations by the company in the region.
- Define distinct responsibilities for all stakeholders involved in managing HSE-related concerns during the development and operation of the company's assets.
- Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the company's operational HSE performance.
- Ensure global policy alignment with local regulations and its consistent implementation and adherence everywhere. This includes activities such as HSE Risk Assessment, Action plans, emergency readiness and response, Grievance mechanism, Monthly reporting, etc.
- Provide necessary assistance and training to allocated HSE resources for assessing HSE risks and impacts throughout project development, construction, and operational phases.
- Review EPC/AM contracts and ensure appropriate HSE requirements are seamlessly integrated before signing.
- Supervise the execution of action plans aimed at mitigating negative impacts of projects on all project stakeholders.
- Offer guidance and support to EPC or O&M contractors associated with the company in the development and execution of these plans, ensuring effective communication and consultation channels.
- Establish rules for monitoring and governance to facilitate continuous improvement of all HSE-related procedures within the company.
- Arrange HSE audits and training to enhance safety awareness among the team, contractors, and partners.
- Coordinate thorough HSE reporting to the Headquarters located in France.
Requirements:
- Education background in HSE or related
- Technical expertise of HSE matters
- Strong HSE background as an advisor
- Solid knowledge of OHSAS 1800/ ISO 45001 system
- Previous experience of Health and safety management in an industrial and construction field
- Experience of Environment and Social risk management of large industrial Projects impact would be a plus
- Ability to ensure qualitative interactions with a wide range of actors (management team, COO, Development, procurement and operations teams, Global or local Regulatory Authoritiesโฆ).
- 5 years in an equivalent job
- Languages: English
- Ready to travel at least one week per month (across Asia)
- Able to be assertive and ensure adherence to HSE standards
