Position Overview:
A highly regarded, employee owned architecture and engineering firm in Austin is looking to hire a Project Architect to join their growing office. As a team leader, the PA is responsible for overseeing the timely and profitable completion of architectural projects. This position involves coordinating the work team, consulting with clients, and ensuring the overall development and successful implementation of specific architectural projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Design Development and Coordination: Collaborate with design principals or principal-in-charge to develop project designs.
- Oversee the production of construction documents, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design intent.
- Coordinate with internal design professionals and external consultants.
- Construction Administration: Monitor the construction phase, addressing any design-related issues that arise.
- Collaborate with contractors, ensuring compliance with design specifications.
- Conduct site visits to verify construction progress and quality.
Client Interaction: Consult with clients to understand their vision, requirements, and goals.
- Present design concepts and progress updates to clients.
- Address client feedback and incorporate changes as needed.
Quality Assurance: Ensure the highest quality standards in design, documentation, and execution.
- Review and approve construction documents.
- Implement best practices and industry standards.
Project Management: Collaborate with the Project Manager (PM) on project strategies.
- Assist in project scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Communicate project updates to the PM and client.
- Team Leadership: Lead and motivate the project team, including architects, designers, and drafters.
- Foster a collaborative and creative work environment.
- Mentor junior staff members.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Licensed Architect: Holds a valid architectural license.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in architectural practice.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp) and construction documentation.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to address design challenges and find practical solutions.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous in reviewing drawings and specifications.
- Team Player: Works effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
