Position: AV Principal Consultant
Location:
Hybrid - with occasional travel to client sites and headquarters in New York City
Role Overview:
As an AV Principal Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in providing expert advice, designing sophisticated AV systems, and ensuring the successful delivery of complex projects. You will work closely with sales, design, and engineering teams, as well as directly with clients, to understand their needs and translate these into effective, innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the AV consulting practice, setting standards for excellence and innovation.
- Engage with clients to understand their business objectives, technical requirements, and constraints, providing strategic advice on AV technologies and solutions.
- Develop comprehensive project scopes, design documents, and specifications for advanced AV systems.
- Oversee the technical delivery of projects, ensuring they meet quality, budget, and timeline constraints.
- Act as the senior technical authority, providing guidance and mentoring to junior consultants and technical staff.
- Stay up to date on industry trends, emerging technologies, and standards, incorporating this knowledge into work and sharing it across the team.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers, suppliers, and other industry stakeholders.
- Participate in industry events, conferences, and seminars, enhancing the position in the market.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Audiovisual Technology, Engineering, IT) or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in AV consulting, design, and project management, with a proven track record of leading successful projects.
- Deep technical knowledge of AV systems, including but not limited to video conferencing, sound reinforcement, digital signage, and control systems.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CTS-D, CTS-I, PMP) are highly desirable.
- Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients, partners, and on-site project teams.
