Duties and Responsibilities
- Preliminary feasibility analysis of the transmission and sub-transmission network for early-stage developments and generator connections
- Carryout initial feasibility studies for Chapter 5 and Chapter 5A connection studies
- Develop quality connection application packages in compliance with AEMO and NSP requirements
- Carryout connection studies in PSSE, PSCad, Sincal and Power factory as required by the NSP's and the NER rules for Chapter 5 and Chapter 5A generator connections
- Maintain good relations and communications with external stakeholders including AEMO, NSP's, OEM's and other relevant consultants
- Lead communications with 3rdparties during connection application meetings including NSP's, OEM's and AEMO on modelling and connection standards.
- Negotiate connection / performance standards with NSP's and AEMO
- Work together with internal and external stakeholders to meet grid connection application requirements.
- Provide technical design input to the grid connection, substation and overall design of the generator connection including (Wind, Solar and other)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in electrical engineering or a related field (Higher education is highly valued)
- Minimum of 2 to 5 years of work experience in the renewable industry
- Experienced in PSSE and PSCAD for modelling generator connections
- Proficient in Sincal for carrying out steady state analysis
- Experience in Power Factory is highly valued
- Proficient in python scripting for automation of model assessment.
It is preferred for you to be based in Sydney. However, overseas candidates based in Singapore, Hong Kong, or Malaysia with the above qualifications are welcome to apply as well!
