A design and engineering firm based in Los Angeles is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their team. In this role, you'll be involved in the Alternative Fuels sector, managing all aspects of mechanical design for assigned projects, including control, planning, and communication with team members, consultants, agencies, and clients. Responsibilities encompass conceptual design development, coordination of mechanical design consultants, development of construction documents and P&IDs, and providing bid and construction support.
Responsibilities:
- Review civil, mechanical, instrumentation, or electrical plans and specifications, along with site survey information.
- Size and select pipes, components, and appurtenances for project-specific requirements.
- Specify gas system components such as piping, control valves, regulators, isolation valves, strainers, filters, instrumentation, vessels, heaters, and compressors.
- Specify mechanical system components such as piping, valves, pumps, fans, blowers, tanks, vessels, heat exchangers, and instrumentation.
- Coordinate design with clients, vendors, and inter-disciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical, and civil/structural work.
- Perform sizing and performance calculations.
- Monitor mechanical design budgets
- Ensure all project deliverables are issued on time
Qualifications/Experience:
- California licensed Mechanical Engineer required.
- Minimum of 8 -10 years of experience in management and responsibilities, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (required).
- Master's degree or equivalent (preferred)
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and Photometric Software.
- Skilled in all Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- In-depth knowledge of the QA/QC process.
- Strong understanding and application of current building codes, with the ability to research, apply, and incorporate them into technical documents.
- High levels of initiative, flexibility, and resourcefulness.
- Excellent communication skills, including graphic, writing, and oral communication.
- Ability to meet deadlines effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
