Job Title: Assistant Construction Superintendent
Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Assistant Construction Superintendent to support our construction projects under the guidance of experienced superintendents. The ideal candidate will assist in managing day-to-day construction activities, ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. Responsibilities:
- On-Site Coordination and Supervision:
- Assist the construction superintendent in coordinating and supervising on-site construction activities, including subcontractor management, material deliveries, and work progress.
- Ensure that construction work is executed according to project plans, specifications, and safety standards.
- Quality Control and Assurance:
- Conduct regular inspections of workmanship and materials to ensure compliance with project requirements and quality standards.
- Assist in addressing any issues or deficiencies promptly to maintain quality throughout the construction process.
- Safety Compliance:
- Promote and enforce safety protocols and procedures on the construction site to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
- Participate in safety meetings, inspections, and training sessions to enhance safety awareness and compliance.
- Project Documentation:
- Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and safety records.
- Support the superintendent in preparing and maintaining as-built drawings, project schedules, and other project documentation as needed.
- Communication and Coordination:
- Communicate effectively with subcontractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders to coordinate work activities and resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise.
- Assist in conducting regular meetings with project teams to review project progress, discuss upcoming tasks, and address any concerns.
- Problem-Solving and Decision Making:
- Collaborate with the construction superintendent to identify and resolve construction-related challenges and obstacles in a timely and efficient manner.
- Exercise sound judgment and decision-making skills to ensure project objectives are achieved effectively.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred).
- Previous experience in the construction industry, preferably in a hands-on role.
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic understanding of construction safety regulations and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software is a plus.
