We are currently seeking skilled HMI Application Engineers with expertise in HMI to join our team remotely. As an HMI Application Engineer, you will be responsible for setting up customer computer system hardware and networks, configuring SCADA application software, conducting startup and testing procedures, and providing comprehensive training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the HMI Application Engineering Supervisor and Project Manager to understand project requirements and direction.
- Keep project managers informed of task statuses and milestones, ensuring awareness of any budget-related issues.
- Produce accurate project documentation, including timesheets and trip reports, in a timely manner.
- Follow established Best Practices and Development Standards and Procedures.
- Set up project system servers, workstations, operating systems, networks, and peripheral equipment at the job site.
- Develop Human-Machine Interface (HMI) application software per contract documents and System Control Narrative using various software development packages.
- Install developed application software and verify proper execution.
- Interface equipment with third-party vendor systems via industrial communication protocols.
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
- Demonstrate overall system functionality to stakeholders, including hardware and network operation, SCADA monitoring and control, data display, alarming, and historical data collection.
- Develop custom Operational and State Reports per customer requirements.
- Provide training to operators, supervisors, and administrative personnel.
- Generate and gather all required final project documentation.
- Provide technical assistance to customers.
- Mentor other HMI Application Engineers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering preferred.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in HMI/SCADA programming, preferably in the Water & Wastewater industry.
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft operating systems, networks, and HMI configuration software (e.g., System Platform w/ OMI, InTouch, Ignition, VTScada, iFix, FactoryTalk View SE).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with others.

- Extended periods of sitting in front of a computer monitor.
- Normal hearing range necessary for communication.
- Adequate vision for computer monitor use.
- Lifting of computer servers, workstations, and peripherals.
- Good manual dexterity for equipment setup and cable attachment.

- Potential for irregular hours and on-call availability for troubleshooting.
Travel:
- Regular travel required for startup, testing, and demonstration of SCADA monitoring and control systems.
