A 100% employee-owned firm is looking to expand within their Highway Division. This top ranked firm is looking for an experienced Project Engineer to be responsible for engineering design and act as a technical advisor to less experienced engineers.
Basic Responsibilities:
- Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope
- Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects
- Perform design computations
- Design projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools, the successful candidate must be proficient in MicroStation and OpenRoads 3D Modeling
- Develop construction cost estimates
- Assist in the preparation of engineering documents for advertisement and construction
- Prepare and compile contract plans, specifications and estimates
- Manage project sub-consultants and in-house support disciplines
- Develop extra work order requests and open-end contract task proposals
- Prepare proposals as required
- Attend meetings with clients
- Coordinate with internal team members to ensure project completion by the defined deadline and established quality
Required experience:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited engineering program
- 5-10 years' experience in specialized discipline
- Professional Engineer License
- Experience working with local clients at the county and state level
- Master's degree in civil engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited engineering program
