A global water firm is looking to fill a Head of Operations & Maintenance role for the Water/Wastewater Treatment (Desalination) sector in the UAE. This is a good opportunity to join a well established firm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the desalination plant to ensure that production targets are met, quality standards are maintained, and all safety and environmental regulations are complied with.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to optimize plant performance, including maintenance schedules, process improvement plans, and safety protocols.
- Manage and lead a team of technical professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are equipped to perform their duties effectively and efficiently.
- Monitor and analyze plant performance data to identify opportunities for improvement, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Develop and manage the plant's annual operating and capital budgets, ensuring that expenses are managed within approved limits.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering, procurement, and finance, to support plant operations and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
- Ensure that all documentation and records related to plant operations and maintenance are accurate, complete, and up-to-date.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in chemical or mechanical engineering or a related field; advanced degree is preferred.
- At least 10 years of experience in operations and maintenance in a desalination plant or similar industry, with at least 5 years in a management or leadership role.
- Demonstrated expertise in desalination plant operations, including experience with reverse osmosis (RO) technology and other relevant technologies.
- Strong technical and analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage a team and collaborate with other departments.
- Familiarity with industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to desalination plant operations and maintenance.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
