Our client is a leading IPP in the renewable energy market who are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to assume the role of Head of Project Execution. This position involves overseeing the front-end-engineering-design (FEED), certification, construction, and commissioning of offshore wind farm projects across the Asia-Pacific region. As a crucial management position within a major independent power producer (IPP) focused on renewable energy, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the on-time delivery of high-quality offshore wind energy projects that align with the company's standards and business objectives.
As the Head of Project Execution, you will lead a team comprising project managers, engineers, and technical experts to ensure efficient and effective project execution. Your responsibilities will include driving the project execution strategy, establishing and implementing project execution plans and procedures, and ensuring their successful implementation.
Furthermore, you and your team will provide valuable input in identifying and mitigating project risks, as well as making informed decisions during the project development phase to optimize project outcomes. You will also support procurement and contracting efforts prior to the final investment decision (FID).
Key Responsibilities:
- Assume overall leadership and management of the offshore wind farm project execution team, and contribute to the development and implementation of project management and governance frameworks.
- Develop and execute project strategies and plans to guarantee the timely delivery of high-quality projects within budget and while prioritizing safety.
- Foster and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including project partners, suppliers, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
- Provide guidance and support to project managers, engineers, and technical experts to ensure they have the necessary resources and assistance to deliver projects on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with the required quality and safety standards.
- Create and implement project management processes and procedures, including risk management, quality control, and performance monitoring.
- Supervise the development and implementation of safety and environmental management plans for offshore wind farm projects, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and standards.
- Regularly update senior management across various countries and functions on project status.
- Contribute to identifying and mitigating project risks, as well as making decisions during the project development phase, while also guiding procurement and contracting efforts prior to the final investment decision (FID).
Qualifications and Experience:
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Have a minimum of 10 years of project management experience within the renewable energy industry, with a specific focus on offshore wind.
- Demonstrate a strong technical understanding of offshore wind farm project execution, including FEED, certification, construction, and commissioning.
- Exhibit experience in managing large and complex offshore wind projects in the Asia-Pacific region, particularly in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Australia.
- Display excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Possess strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to analyze and interpret complex technical information.
- Demonstrate effectiveness in working within a matrix organization, collaborating with and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with proficiency in other languages considered a plus.
