Position Overview: We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Geotechnical Engineer to join the team in Orlando, FL. The successful candidate will play a key role in performing geotechnical investigations, conducting engineering analyses, and providing technical support for a wide range of projects. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct geotechnical field investigations, including soil and rock sampling, test pit logging, and geophysical surveys, to characterize subsurface conditions.
- Perform laboratory testing on soil and rock samples to determine engineering properties and parameters, such as grain size distribution, moisture content, compaction, and strength.
- Analyze geotechnical data and prepare engineering reports, recommendations, and design calculations for foundations, earthworks, retaining structures, and slope stability.
- Use geotechnical software and modeling tools to perform analyses, such as finite element analysis, bearing capacity calculations, settlement predictions, and seepage analysis.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to develop cost-effective and practical solutions to geotechnical challenges and constraints.
- Provide technical support during construction activities, including soil and rock excavation, foundation installation, slope stabilization, and earth retention systems.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, regulations, and industry best practices in all geotechnical engineering work.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Florida required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, including fieldwork, laboratory testing, and analysis.
- Proficiency in geotechnical analysis software, such as gINT, GeoStudio, FLAC, and PLAXIS.
- Strong understanding of geotechnical engineering principles, soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and geotechnical site characterization techniques.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
