Our client, an esteemed construction company in Atlanta, is looking to hire a skilled and experienced geotechnical engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support on various projects related to soil mechanics, rock mechanics and engineering geology.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering with specialization in Geotechnics.
- 5+ years of experience as a practicing geotechnical engineer
- PE certification required
Responsibilities:
The chosen applicant must possess the following skills that are essential to perform their duties effectively;
1) Site Investigation Skills - A comprehensive understanding of site investigations' theoretical & practical aspects such as drilling procedures; sampling techniques; instrumentation installation methods.
2) Soil Mechanics Expertise - Experience performing laboratory testing (e.g., triaxial tests), interpretation of results from these tests should also provide insight into designing foundations suitable for different soils types
3) Design Capabilities - Ability to design earthwork structures including slopes stabilization mechanisms through its reinforcement using structural systems like gabion walls/retaining wall designs.
4) Communication proficiency - Strong communication abilities both verbally writing are necessary since you would have regular meetings clients along other professionals involved throughout project lifecycle
Salary:
£120000 per annum
