Job Description: As an Environmental Consultant, you will play a critical role in conducting inspections and assessments for asbestos, mold, lead, and indoor air quality in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards while delivering high-quality services to our clients.
Responsibilities:
Conduct Inspections: Perform thorough inspections and assessments for asbestos-containing materials (ACMs), mold, lead-based paint, and indoor air quality in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Sample Collection: Collect samples of suspected ACMs, mold, lead-based paint, and indoor air quality pollutants using appropriate sampling techniques and equipment.
Data Analysis: Analyze inspection findings and laboratory results to identify hazardous materials and assess potential risks to occupants.
Report Preparation: Prepare detailed inspection reports documenting findings, sample analysis results, and recommendations for remediation or abatement measures.
Client Communication: Communicate inspection findings and recommendations to clients in a clear and professional manner, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay current with federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to asbestos, mold, lead, and indoor air quality to ensure compliance with all applicable standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, industrial hygiene, occupational health, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience conducting inspections for asbestos, mold, lead, and indoor air quality.
- Certification as an Asbestos Inspector (AHERA/NIOSH), Mold Assessor, Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor, or Indoor Air Quality Professional preferred.
- Strong knowledge of relevant regulations, including EPA, OSHA, and state regulations.
- Proficiency in conducting visual inspections, sample collection, and data interpretation.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
