The Engineering Manager - Utilities Asset Management role is within the City Water Strategic Operations Facility Planning and Asset Management section. This team oversees the strategic framework for vertical facility asset management, facility planning, and overarching strategic analytic for the water department's facilities. The incumbent in this position will play a pivotal role in promoting the utility's mission, vision, and values throughout the entire cost-effective service life of all assets.
The ideal Engineering Manager will possess a solid understanding of the principles and practices of utilities management and operational systems theory. They should be adept at troubleshooting complex utility systems, conducting thorough research, and providing guidance to internal and external stakeholder groups.
Requirement:
- BSc in Civil Engineering or relevant field.
- PE License in TX (if licensed in another state, it is required to register for TX license within 6 months of employment).
- 5 years of experience in vertical facility asset management
- 2 years of administrative and supervisory responsibilities
- Valid Drivers License
- Experience in water and/or wastewater utility environment.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with reclaimed customers, manage reclaimed water contracts, and collaborate with operations related to water systems operations and maintenance.
- Oversee and coordinate risk framework for vertical assets, and facilitate departments wastewater facility master plans.
- Lead the facility asset management plan development and closely interact with other divisions within the utility that use data generated from various systems.
- Serve on the CIP committee and provide analysis and justification for recommended projects.
- Utilize the utilities CMMS as part of the routine activities. Recommend reports, changes, and other tools that may be beneficial to the success.
- Provide technical support to the capital delivery project managers assigned to facility capital improvement projects.
- Perform conceptual engineering, process diagrams, and procurements.
