The Director of Development will be responsible forโฆ
- Overseeing development tasks for wind project sites throughout the entire development process from site identification to Notice to Proceed (NTP).
- Taking ownership of projects, assuming full responsibility, and demonstrating prior experience to anticipate potential challenges.
- Identifying development prospects, conducting fatal flaw review, and initial site reconnaissance.
- Conducting project feasibility evaluation.
- Developing and executing project development strategy and plans.
- Updating project budgets and cash flow projections, completing requested management reporting and tracking.
- Collaborating with subject matter experts and contractors- including those related to project resource assessment, interconnection, project design, financial modeling, regulatory and legislative matters, environmental and wildlife studies, and permitting.
- Supporting the Land Acquisition team for new projects and developing the acquisition plan for new project sites-hiring residents, establishing local offices, funding local initiatives, establishing relationships, and generally developing alliances with the community that will support site development.
- Communicating with landowners during development and pre-construction and maintaining landowner contact records for parcel files consistent with the company real estate inventory database.
- Manage relationships with customers, landowners, state and local officials and other stakeholders to achieve a positive reputation, etc.
- Coordinating site resource monitoring deployment and data management and supporting the completion of resource assessment reports.
- Researching local, state and federal regulations on project development to incorporate into project plan and supporting the state, federal and local permitting processes.
- Assisting and supporting origination of project off-take opportunities.
The Qualifications for this role includeโฆ
- 8+ years of experience working on wind energy projects with increasing responsibility.
- Prior experience with all aspects of wind development projects from site identification to NTP.
- Experience with zoning and permitting of wind energy projects.
- An understanding of the utility interconnection process
- Comfortable being "hands-on" and "boots on the ground."
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Highly proficient in MS Excel, MS Project/Smartsheet, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as Google Earth.
- Proven success working with all levels of management.
