Position and Company Summary:
The Director of Engineering is in charge of guiding the technical advancement, implementation, and engineering execution of diverse renewable projects within the EPC team (specifically PV & BESS), as well as overseeing the management and development of the overall engineering team. This role reports to the VP of Engineering or a designated senior management personnel. This client engages in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) services to develop, invest in, and deliver projects involving solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage systems (BESS).

- Lead all phases of project design and engineering, including conceptual and advanced system design, adherence to regulatory codes and customer requirements, balance of systems, site visits, permitting, and technical support during construction.
- Collaborate with team members to contribute to comprehensive design and delivery of PV, BESS, and other renewable projects.
- Take charge of the technical tasks related to proposals, projects, and the evaluation of potential project/supplier acquisition opportunities.
- Report on planning and technical design, presenting to the Vice President of Engineering.
- Work collaboratively to develop and enhance system standards.
- Define company processes, metrics, and resource allocation across existing programs in alignment with strategic goals and required technical training.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement to enhance company efficiency and engineering quality.
- Promote a safety culture with a proactive and exemplary approach.
- Oversee compliance with project-specific standards.
- Ensure compliance with the requirements of the quality management system.
- Perform assigned duties and special projects as needed.

- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering science, with practical knowledge in various engineering fields.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional engineering experience in the Solar/BESS industry.
- Minimum of 5 years of team management experience.
- Extensive technical experience with photovoltaic and energy storage projects.
- Proficiency in photovoltaic performance modeling tools (preferably PVSyst).
- Knowledge of PV/BESS/etc. plant design and optimization.
- Familiarity with the National Electric Code and relevant Standard Industry Codes.
- Willingness to travel, at least 25% of the time.
- Ability to motivate and develop team members.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
