We are proudly representing a leading geotechnical firm with offices across the United States. They are currently looking to grow there headcount in their Austin office by 150% in the next 3 years and are seeking a highly skilled and talented individual to lead to geotechnical department. They have a huge backlog of projects in the works and have pipeline up until 2026!
With a focus on a range of projects including TxDOT and Transportation, Commercial, Industrial, Residential and Environmental; they are never short on work and are constantly expanding into new markets in order to increase their domination in the geotechical industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the geotechnical department, overseeing the performance of engineers, technicians, and support staff.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on geotechnical engineering projects, ensuring quality, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
- Develop and implement departmental goals, strategies, and initiatives to support business objectives and enhance operational efficiency.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork, professional development, and knowledge sharing among team members.
- Serve as a liaison between the geotechnical department and other departments within the company, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
- Manage client relationships, including project proposals, contracts, and ongoing communication to ensure client satisfaction and project success.
- Monitor project budgets, schedules, and resources, identifying and addressing any issues or challenges to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a focus on project management and leadership.
- Strong technical proficiency in geotechnical analysis, soil mechanics, and foundation design.
- Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve goals and deliver exceptional results.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain client relationships, generate business opportunities, and drive growth.
