Our client is seeking an experienced and skilled Construction Inspector to join their transportation sector in Philadelphia, United States. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing construction activities on the PA turnpike project site while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Qualifications:
- NICET Certification
- Highway inspection experience
- At least 5 years of construction level experience
Skills Required:
The ideal candidate should possess expertise in the following areas:
Transportation Engineering Technician - Applicants must have hands-on knowledge of engineering principles that apply to highway infrastructure design, maintenance and repair.
Construction Level 3 - Our client requires candidates who can work independently under minimum supervision during complex phases where requirements are not well defined or documented yet critical decisions need to be made within tight deadlines.
Inspector Experience - Candidates must demonstrate prior working experiences related to inspecting highways/bridges/tunnels/culverts/drains/dams by using various techniques such as visual inspections/non-destructive testing methods etc., all whilst maintaining high standards when it comes down safety protocols.
Responsibilities Include (but not limited):
* Inspect ongoing roadwork & structures being built along interstates/routes
* Ensure contractors adhere strictly to quality control procedures
* Document daily reports relating to field observations; take photos/videos if necessary
* Review contractor's approved plans/shop drawings/specs/submittals/material data sheets/WPs/SOPs/etc. at regular intervals
