A multidisciplinary engineering firm is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Construction Engineer Inspector to join their dynamic team. As a key member of their construction management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of transportation infrastructure projects. This role requires a strong understanding of transportation engineering principles and construction inspection practices.
Responsibilities:
- Inspection and Compliance: Conduct thorough inspections of transportation construction projects to ensure compliance with design specifications, engineering standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of construction activities, including daily inspection reports, project documentation, and deviations from plans or specifications.
- Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and engineering teams to address issues, provide technical guidance, and ensure seamless project progression.
- Code Adherence: Verify that construction activities adhere to transportation engineering codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Material Testing: Oversee and coordinate material testing processes to ensure the quality and integrity of construction materials used in transportation projects.
- Progress Reporting: Provide regular updates on project progress, highlighting any concerns or deviations from the original plans.
- Problem Resolution: Identify and address transportation construction-related issues promptly, working collaboratively to find effective solutions.
- Safety Oversight: Monitor and enforce safety protocols on transportation construction sites to ensure a secure working environment for all personnel.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation construction engineering inspection.
- Strong knowledge of transportation engineering principles, construction materials, methods, and techniques.
- Familiarity with relevant transportation codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in transportation construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., NICET) are advantageous.
