The Commercial Director's role will be to lead the company's local supply chain strategy and to support development and implementation of packages for local economic benefits with qualified regional supply chain companies. You will lead localisation and supply chain development, tendering, and procurement activities, in close collaboration with our selected local consultants, partners and advisors, supported by the engineering and procurement teams from headquarters. Overseeing all aspects related to ensuring our localisation and industrial relevance program requirements comply with local policies and bidding requirements. Confirming our supply chain channels in Taiwan will be strong enough to deliver on our project needs, you will be responsible for overall activities concerning bid preparation. This will include leading our procurement strategy, contracts, and project management activities, where the ultimate reward is
winning a bid in the upcoming auctions in Taiwan. A key element of this role is in developing and maintaining strong external relationships with key stakeholders who will provide services to projects. In this role you will be working closely with the Country Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Leading the supplier market screenings and development within each category,
- Leading the management of the daily relationship with the local network of suppliers and key industry stakeholders,
- Providing the supply chain strategy and planning for upcoming offshore wind projects,
- Driving the company's local content agenda, which is key for presenting competitive bids for upcoming projects,
- Creating awareness of the company in new markets through the local supply chain.
- Manage vendors, contractors, and consultants during project development period
- Where required work with a team composed of multidisciplinary members, within the renewables industry (economists, finance, tax specialists, engineers, lawyers, HSE), as well as external consultants and banking institutions
- Manage all early-stage aspects of the project to ensure key development milestones are met
- Ensure an efficient transfer of the project to the technical, finance and asset management teams for the operational phase of construction
Requirements:
- Hold a bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of five years of professional experience, which can be in government affairs within the
- renewables sector, land acquisition dealings, project finance and economics and stakeholder
- engagement at all levels
- Strong understanding of commercial activities including funding arrangements and legal requirements
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills will be necessary to engage local stakeholders at all levels
- Understand zoning regulations for renewable energy development
- Have relevant knowledge in the energy/offshore wind industry, the market, and its players
