A Civil Engineering Manager is responsible for the managing all engineering activities. As part of this role, the Civil Engineering Manager ensures that the civil engineering staff adheres to company best practices and meets quality assurance goals. You will have primary responsibilities that will include:
- Support project managers in daily planning, coordination, and completion of projects
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel
- Act as a team resource on complex engineering issues
- Communicate best practices to the civil engineering team and ensure understanding and compliance with roles, responsibilities, standards, procedures, and specifications
- Manage junior team members by providing project direction
- Responsible for QA/QC reviews for the civil engineering team
- Ensure the civil engineering teams are meeting client program requirements within the deadlines and budget constraints
- Ensure site designs meet professional and liability requirements
- Serve as a technical specialist for the organization in the application of advanced concepts, principles, and methods
- Participate in the development of company best practices and standards
- Assist in the preparation of civil engineering project proposals
- Compare design options and document findings to produce detailed civil engineering studies and reports
- As needed, perform site design construction documents to include site layouts, grading, stormwater, roadway, and utility layouts using Civil 3D
- Motivate team members through the creation of a positive work environment by providing mentoring, coaching, and training to assist in professional development
- Other project and supervisory duties as assigned
Position requirements include:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer Licensure (PE) is required
- 10+ years of professional experience
- Proficient in the use e of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, AutoTurn, HydroCAD Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to motivate and mentor a team
