This role, which can be based in either Sydney or Melbourne, is ideal for a professional who is passionate about environmental impact through innovative carbon credit projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of carbon reduction projects from inception through to certification, ensuring they align with both regulatory standards and corporate goals.
- Manage a team of project developers and specialists, overseeing project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across various sectors, including government agencies, non-profit organizations, and private companies, to promote and expand project reach and impact.
- Conduct feasibility studies and prepare detailed project proposals and reports.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes that affect the carbon market.
- Drive innovation within the team, encouraging new ideas and approaches to carbon project development and management.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in project management, particularly within the environmental, sustainability, or related fields.
- Deep understanding of the mechanisms of the carbon market, including carbon credits and emissions trading.
- Strong leadership skills and experience in managing multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinking with a detail-oriented approach to project planning and execution.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
