Job Summary: They are seeking a skilled and motivated Bridge Engineer to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge in bridge design, construction, and maintenance. This role involves working on a range of bridge projects, from small-scale pedestrian bridges to large, complex structures.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Analysis: Perform structural analysis and design of bridge components using appropriate software and engineering principles. Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and specifications.
Project Management: Assist in managing bridge engineering projects from conception through completion. Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure project milestones and deliverables are met on time and within budget.
Construction Support: Provide technical support during the construction phase, including reviewing shop drawings, conducting site inspections, and addressing construction-related issues. Collaborate with contractors to ensure quality and safety standards are upheld.
Inspections and Assessments: Conduct field inspections and structural assessments of existing bridges. Prepare detailed reports documenting findings, recommending maintenance, repairs, or replacements as necessary.
Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, and specifications. Maintain thorough documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Compliance and Standards: Ensure all engineering activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations. Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and advancements in bridge engineering.
Client Interaction: Communicate effectively with clients to understand project requirements, provide technical advice, and present project updates and results. Build and maintain strong client relationships.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field. Master's degree in Structural Engineering is a plus.
Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience in bridge engineering, including design, analysis, and project management.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000). Strong understanding of bridge design codes and standards (e.g., AASHTO, Eurocodes).
Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with strong organizational and time management skills.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to clearly convey technical information to diverse audiences.
Professional Registration: PE (Professional Engineer) license required.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve engineering challenges efficiently.
