Job Summary: The AV Design Consultant is responsible for designing and implementing audiovisual (AV) systems for various settings, such as corporate offices, conference rooms, educational institutions, government buildings, hotels, and other venues. They work closely with clients to understand their AV needs, design customized solutions, and manage the installation and maintenance of AV equipment and systems.
- Consult with clients to understand their AV needs, budget, and goals.
- Design and develop customized AV solutions that meet client requirements.
- Prepare detailed project proposals, including budget estimates and timelines.
- Work closely with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of AV systems with building infrastructure.
- Manage the procurement and installation of AV equipment and systems, including coordinating with vendors and contractors.
- Conduct testing and quality control checks on all AV systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Train clients on how to use and maintain AV systems.
- Provide ongoing technical support and troubleshooting assistance to clients as needed.
- Stay up-to-date with new AV technology and best practices.
- Represent the company at industry events and conferences as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in AV design and implementation.
- Proven track record of designing and implementing AV solutions in various settings.
- Strong knowledge of AV cabling, signal flow, and system design.
- Experience with a variety of AV equipment and systems, including video conferencing, projection systems, sound systems, and control systems.
- Familiarity with industry standards and certifications, such as CTS-D (Certified Technology Specialist-Design).
- Strong communication and project management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with clients, vendors, and contractors.
- Ability to travel to client sites as needed.
The AV Design Consultant reports to the AV Manager and works closely with other members of the AV team, as well as with clients, vendors, and contractors. They must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively to meet project deadlines. Additionally, they must have strong problem-solving skills and be able to troubleshoot issues quickly and efficiently. The AV Design Consultant is a key contributor to the success of the company's AV business and must have a deep understanding of the industry and its trends.
