Vice President of Business Development
Role Overview
In the role of Vice President of Business Development, you will be tasked with creating and implementing strategies, plans, and processes aimed at driving sales growth, increasing revenue, and expanding market reach to meet the company's financial goals. This role involves leading a dynamic sales team, executing a comprehensive sales strategy, and exploring new markets, partnerships, distribution channels, and customer opportunities. You will conduct thorough research and analysis of the market landscape, competitors, and customer behavior to develop innovative approaches for new services, pricing models, and business opportunities. Close collaboration with the National Sales team, marketing department, and other companies within the network is essential to advancing the business development goals and increasing our national market presence. Reporting directly to the President, you will work closely with the Senior VP of Sales and Marketing and the Regional VP of Sales.
Core Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement a robust sales strategy to drive significant sales growth and foster new business development.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to build strong client relationships, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and revenue growth.
- Develop and oversee the company's sales plan, ensuring accurate performance forecasts and sustained business growth.
- Establish and nurture a high-performing sales organization by optimizing talent, processes, and resources to consistently exceed sales targets.
- Forge and maintain long-term strategic relationships with key customers to support organic growth and align with the company's long-term objectives.
Qualifications and Expertise
- A bachelor's or master's degree in business or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in sales management, preferably within the Industrial, Construction, or Service sectors (MEP experience is highly desirable).
- Proven track record of success in sales, both as an individual contributor and in a leadership role.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and networking abilities.
- Capability to enhance sales team performance, effectively prioritize tasks, and meet critical deadlines.
- Demonstrated success in fast-paced environments, contributing positively to organizational goals.
- Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, from C-suite executives to entry-level staff.
- Experience with Salesforce is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to build trust and gain support from all stakeholders.
- Proven experience driving significant improvements and performance in entrepreneurial sales environments.
