Job Title: Transportation Planning Project Manager

Job Summary:
Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Transportation Planning Project Manager to lead and oversee transportation infrastructure projects from conception to completion. In this role, you will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, stakeholders, and government agencies to develop sustainable and efficient transportation systems. Your expertise in planning, budgeting, and project management will be critical to ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in line with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Manage transportation planning projects, ensuring alignment with project objectives, timelines, and budgets.
- Team Collaboration: Coordinate with engineers, planners, and other professionals to integrate multiple disciplines into cohesive project plans.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work with local, state, and federal agencies, community groups, and private entities to gather input and navigate regulatory processes.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Conduct and review transportation studies, data collection, and analysis to inform project decisions and recommendations.
- Budget & Resource Management: Develop project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure optimal use of resources throughout the project lifecycle.
- Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Permitting & Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with applicable transportation, environmental, and safety regulations.
- Client Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for clients, keeping them informed of progress, addressing concerns, and delivering high-quality project outcomes.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Transportation Planning, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- AICP certification required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation planning or project management.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale transportation projects.
- Strong understanding of transportation policy, land use planning, and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience with transportation modeling software (e.g., Synchro, VISSIM) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with public sector clients (e.g., TxDOT).
- Familiarity with sustainable transportation planning and multimodal systems.
- Knowledge of the latest trends in smart transportation technologies.
