Job Description:
As a Transmission Planning Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of energy transmission systems. You will work with a diverse group of clients, utilities, and stakeholders to provide strategic guidance and technical expertise in the planning and optimization of transmission networks. This role requires a deep understanding of power systems, regulatory frameworks, and environmental considerations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transmission Network Planning:
- Analyze existing transmission infrastructure and propose enhancements or upgrades to meet evolving energy demands.
- Develop transmission expansion plans, considering factors such as load growth, renewable integration, and grid reliability.
- Technical Analysis:
- Conduct power flow studies, contingency analysis, and other advanced modeling techniques to assess system performance and identify constraints.
- Evaluate the economic and environmental impacts of proposed transmission projects.
- Renewable Integration:
- Assess the integration of renewable energy sources into the transmission grid, addressing challenges such as intermittency and grid stability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Professional engineering license (PE) is a plus.
